Tool tips getting in the way

Should be a straight-forward answer but it has eluded me. The tool tips that come up when I hover over something keeps getting in the way.

I want to deselect it but I cannot find where that switch, if it exists, resides.

Your help will be appreciated.

    Can you describe the exact scenario? The tooltips that appear on mouse hover should disappear when you move the mouse or press a key.

    The ones I most commonly see getting in the way are the method help that pops up when typing the open parenthesis or parameters for a method call. They can be dismissed with the Escape key.
