Cannot update or activate on my work laptop

I'm trying to update/activate the Premium license on my work laptop and get the error message:
"Unable to communicate with the update server. Check your Internet connection and proxy settings":
I do have Internet connection and use the proxy settings configured by our IT.
All other applications requiring access to Internet seem to work perfectly fine.

The problem is with V6 only. V5 can check the updates just fine.

I managed to activate my license using offline method.
I'd still would like to be able to update via the application. -
Under "Specify Web Proxy Server", what have you entered? Automatic or manual? Anything under authentication?
And is it possible that your Windows firewall is configured to block LINQPad 6 but not LINQPad 5?
