EC2 and Activations

I'm working at a new gig where developers use EC2 VMs as main development machines (Windows Server 2012r2). I haven't changed any aspect of the VM since I created it but it does get forcibly shutdown down at night via a watchdog process. It seems like every time I fire up LINQPad it wants me to reactivate and we have a limit on how many times we can do that.
I did find a thread from 2019 about making a change for dealing with activations on EC2 which I assume would be in the version I'm using.
