Latest Stable LinqPad 5 - No Automatic Update
I want to use the latest LinqPad 5 for my .NET Framework related work.
Last official stable version is 5.48 hasn't been updated in a while.
The last beta is 5.51 - three versions ahead.
Can I have a "stable beta" that won't auto-update of 5.50+
Comments
Unfortunately, there aren't many beta testers left on LINQPad 5, so there's not been sufficient feedback to safely RTM the preview. I found a couple of bugs just recently that were never reported. I've now uploaded the 5.51.03 beta which should fix those issues. It will be a few months, at least, though, before it can be considered for RTM.
Regarding version numbers, LINQPad jumped directly from 5.48 to 5.51. Version 5.5x signifies loss of support for .NET 4.6. The release notes are here:

I won't mind using beta 5.5x - just I am afraid of auto-updating feature.
say I Have 5.51, I don't want things to auto-update to 5.52, 5.53 on their own.
Is the automatic beta update just 8 feature ?
Yes - the LINQPad 5 betas don't automatically update.
Hi, I notice that 5.52 is now at RTM. Should I be expecting the auto update to be available (it's not at the moment) or is manual install the way to go (and if so will that overwrite 5.48)?
By the way, is there a 'LINQPad news emai" to sign up to? I'd happily put my name down for beta testing, particularly if you're short of beta testers. (I'm primarily on 8 now but still using 5 for some projects).
The automatic update will be rolling out this week.
There's no mailing list - atm, announcements are made on X.
Great. Thanks for the update.
I’m not on X so I’ll hang around for the mailing list.
Thanks again, John
