Selecting a Framework

I have many versions of the .NET Framework installed on my PC: 3.51, 4.7.2, 4.8.1, 5, 6, 8 and 9.

However, not all of these show up in the .NET dropdown in LinqPad. It is defaulting to version 6.

Why is this, and which should I select?

    LINQPad 8 supports only .NET 3.1 and later, i.e., .NET Core 3.1, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

    For .NET Framework 4.x support, you need to download LINQPad 5.
