I guess I can add an option. They were modified recently to reduce flicker when dragging tabs and to improve contrast in Win11 - on a large screen, it can otherwise be hard to tell which tab is active. Unfortunately, I can't improve contrast without also removing the flat effect, at least not without entirely rewriting the control.

This should make it into the first 7.6 beta in around a week's time.
This is now in 7.6.1 - Edit | Preferences > Advanced > General.
